Guild Director Steps Down

After nine years of service at the Christian Writers Guild, Director Kerma Murray has resigned, wanting to change pace and spend more time with her extended family.

Owner Jerry B. Jenkins says, “I knew this day would come eventually but enjoyed pretending Kerma would be with us forever.”

Kerma has agreed to become Jerry’s special assistant, working part time from home to manage both the new CWG Word Weavers nationwide local writing critique groups effort and the annual compilation of The Christian Writer’s Market Guide—which the Guild recently purchased from Sally Stuart.

“Now I’ll have the best of both worlds. I get to continue working with Jerry and the Guild, but have the freedom to spend more time with family and friends. And I may even do a piano gig or two along the way.”

New Director named

Jerry also announced the appointment of Janice Mitchell as the new Director of the Christian Writers Guild.

“Janice has been with us more than five years and has served as Office Manager and then Assistant Director,” Jenkins says. “She was former Director Kerma Murray’s right hand, and no one has been more immersed in the operation than Janice.”

Janice came to the Guild after eleven years at Focus on the Family as an event coordinator. She and her husband Bruce have three grown children and four grandchildren.

    Kerma,

I’m so sorry to see you go! I’m happy that you’ll be able to spend more time with your friends, family (and piano), and that you’ll still have your hand in the workings of CWG’s ever-expanding influence over the Christian writing world, but know this: you will be missed!

Many blessings… and let’s stay in touch.
