CWG Board Member’s 52nd Publication

Dennis E. Hensley, director of the Professional Writing major at Taylor University, where he is also a professor, has published his 52nd book. He is a long-time member of the Guild’s Editorial Board.

Jack London’s Masterplots, published by Taylor University Press, is a compendium of plot summaries of all London’s 190 short stories and 22 novels. The book provides titles, lists of main characters, settings, and plot summaries, as well as 10 pages of rare photos of London in the Yukon, at sea, and on his ranch, plus biographical data and a listing of London’s published books in chronological order.

Hensley’s Ph.D. dissertation was on the life and writings of Jack London, and this new book serves as a companion volume to his 2006 book The Annotated Edition of Jack London’s Martin Eden, also published by Taylor University Press, and dedicated to Jerry B. Jenkins.

I can hardly wait to get my copy of this book. I read “The Annotated Edition of Martin Eden,” and it was incredible! I know of Doc Hensley’s admiration for London’s writings, and I know how passionate Doc Hensley is about the industry as a whole. When he combines his passion for writing with his admiration for London, it is an explosive blend of contagious inspiration. Two of God’s highly favored authors interlock in harmony on pages that serve to fuel the eagerness of those who aspire to such greatness.
