Write News, Write Often, Write Now

An easy way to get your name in print is to write for the newspaper in your town. Opportunities for freelance work can be unlimited, if you prove yourself. Learn how by attending Michael Ehret’s webinar. To participate, you don’t need a webcam or a mic, just access to the internet.

When?
June 7, 2011, 8-9 p.m. (Eastern Time)

Michael, our editor-in-chief, began his writing career as a stringer for The Indianapolis News. He will show you how to gain bylines through understanding what newspaper editors are looking for: solid article structure, tight writing, speed, and being willing to do what no one else wants to do.

Michael oversees content creation, including course revisions, our WordSmith newsletter, and Web copy. He also coordinates our Operation First Novel contest. He worked more than 15 years as a newspaper reporter in Indianapolis.

What are webinars?
One-hour seminars containing content you can use now—offered live over the internet. Guild members and students can register and access the recording later, if necessary. Each webinar remains available online for approximately two weeks.

See you online Tuesday, June 7!
