The Guild’s Fiction that Sells will teach you to create memorable characters, crisp dialogue, and successful stories.

When I told my husband I felt it was time for me write a book about my Christian life, I said, “But that’s ridiculous. Who am I to tell the world how to walk with God?”

He said, “Just say that if God could make something of you, imagine what He could do with a person who had something to begin with.”

Fortunately he laughed as he said it. But he’s right. God will take what we offer Him and make something good of it.

Not My Ideas

Some of my best ideas for novels come as I read the Bible and the writings not only of people like Chambers, Lewis, Spurgeon, but also daily devotions by aspiring writers. Often I discover something my fictional character needs to learn.

I had a character read Job and begin to see her life compared to Job’s plight. And I was inspired to craft a restoration ending for that novel.

In Isaiah, God says, “My word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it” (55:11 nlt).

That should give us writers great confidence.

Very encouraging post and something I needed to hear. Thank you for sharing your heart.

I have not heard from your website for a long time. I have not written anything for a long time. Maybe after I retire I can find more time to write. I like to write about Facts and History and Travel…and Christian “thoughts” to inspire others!
