How to Be a Professional Writer

You have an idea, you have the message; but do you have an idea of what it takes to become a professional writer, how to submit a manuscript, or how to meet an editor’s expectations?

If not, you are not alone, and the Christian Writers Guild is here to help.

We’ve been there
The staff and mentors at the Guild remember starting our own writing journeys—and we want to share secrets we’ve learned. So here’s your chance to benefit from professionals who have been there, done that, and are still doing it.

Karen O’Connor will present our next webinar, Becoming an Author Editors Can’t Resist, June 30, 8-9 p.m. (Eastern Time). This lively and practical presentation will boost your professionalism, whether you’re new or a veteran. Karen will show you the top 10 ways to catch an editor’s attention, so you’ll never be out of work. Experiences from her 40-year career will illustrate each point.

Karen is an award-winning author of 60 books and hundreds of magazine articles for children and adults, a retreat and conference speaker, a Christian Writers Guild mentor, and a writing instructor with 25 years of experience.
