Be Prepared

Les Stobbe

You’d be surprised how many book proposals I receive that don’t have the writer’s contact information in the upper left corner of the title page. And why do writers seeking publication spell the word Foreword incorrectly? Or drop in commas like flies at a picnic?

That reflects inadequate preparation for success.

Tackle a fiction genre there is a market for. Some writers have an idea and off they go, only to be astonished when no publisher is interested in their novel. If you’re a non-fiction writer, find topics that aren’t already covered.
