- Dear Friend of the Christian Writers Guild,
It has never been easier to get published, nor have there ever been as many avenues available for you if you want to be a writer. Indeed, anybody can publish virtually anything virtually anywhere.
While it may be more difficult than ever to crack a traditional publishing house where someone else takes all the risks and pays you for what you write, there are a million and one ways you can now publish your own book on just about any budget.
The problem is, that doesn’t make you a writer.
The cream still rises. Even though you can go from being unknown and unpublished today to having anything you want exposed to the world online tomorrow, you still have to learn the craft, hone your skills, polish your prose—if you want your writing to be taken seriously.
In short, to be effective, you need to learn to write.
That’s where Jerry Jenkins comes in. When he was young—wanting to be a writer and learning the craft—authors he admired took time for him, encouraged him. He resolved that if he ever succeeded as an author, he would do two things:
- Never stop learning.
- Never keep to himself anything he learned.
- Decades later, he’s published more than 185 books, seen 20 of them reach the New York Times bestseller list, sold more 70 million copies, and has taught writers all over the world.
Now his goal is to teach you what he knows.
